DINK Independent Comic & Art Expo

Celebrating Art: The Odd, Wonderful and the Bizarre

Denver, CO: Colorado’s Independent Comic & Art Expo, DINK, returns next week to celebrate it’s sophomore year in Colorado with an exposition in the odd, the wonderful, and the bizarre this April 8-9 at the McNichols Civic Center Building.

While the event has already announced such legendary names in underground comics such as Denis Kitchen and the Hernandez Brothers, event organizers have delivered an outstanding roster of talent and never-seen-before installations in the bizarre, bold and beautiful. Stand out exhibitors include a pop-up store for the Sucklord: the godfather of Bootleg Action Figure Art. Known for inventive unlicensed action figures and toys, Suckadelic was featured in the second season of Work of Art: The Next Great Artist and on Bravo’s Gallery Girls reality TV show

DINK will also feature Denver’s first exposition of the World’s Longest Ongoing Illustration and the Foreverscape Machine from Portland, Oregon. An art piecelarger than the Titanic, the foreverscape chronicles an in-depth look into seven years of painstaking drawing and painting of Vance Feldman.

Additionally, the 2017 event has included some light-hearted programming and Denver Specific kind of fun with a Dog Cosplay Costume Contest, and the nation’s second annual Cannabis and Comix tour led by underground beat generation artists Denis Kitchen and special guest Mario Hernandez of Love and Rockets fame.

Created and developed by the masterminds who launched the Denver Comic Con, DINK’s impressive 200 artist showcase opened in 2016 with critical acclaim. Featuring nationally and internationally renowned artists and creative programming with comic artists and graphic novelists, tattoo and street artists as well as high-brow creators, award winners and a handful of forward-thinking New York Times bestsellers — attendees can take in a number of daily programming options, enjoy eye-popping visuals and score great deals on independent art from around the world.

The second annual event will kick off on April 8-9 at the McNichols Civic Center Building this spring. For more information about DINK Denver check out the official website at www.dinkdenver.com
